Picture this: less than two weeks before showtime, the headlining band we were set to open for at The Banyan Live pulls the plug. Total bummer, right? But if there’s one thing I’ve learned in this game, it’s that the show always goes on. So, I teamed up with my buddy Joseph Fielder from Campfire Shows—a booking company with a recording studio in its back pocket—and we got to work. Joseph’s not just a behind-the-scenes guy either; he hits the stage with his crew, Black Heart Society, and as always, it’s a blast sharing the spotlight with them!
Now, if you haven’t been to The Banyan Live yet, it’s in West Palm Beach, Florida, known for its cozy, intimate vibes and killer sound system. It’s the kind of place where you feel the music in your bones, and the crowd’s energy carries you through the night—perfect for a lineup shake-up like this.
Huge thank you to Elizabeth for keeping the show alive and helping us promote the event. And a big thank you to Erin, who ensured every band sounded top-notch all night long.
The night itself? Amazing. Black Heart Society brought their gritty, soulful edge, tearing up the stage like they owned it. Then Ex Monarch rolled, keeping the momentum alive with a set that had the whole place buzzing. Those guys know how to deliver—no question.
And the cherry on top? Ex Monarch’s lead singer, Amanda Pasler, invited Carolyn Lord, the powerhouse frontwoman of The Hot Seat, to join her on stage, closing out the night with a jaw-dropping cover of “Black Sheep” by Metric. It was one of those moments where the crowd lost it—singing along, hands in the air, completely locked in.
So yeah, we turned a curveball into a home run. Thanks to Joseph, Campfire Shows, and the entire crew at The Banyan Live, we proved once again that nothing stops the music. Catch you at the next one!
